Be the best version of yourself in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and beyond
We want you to look and feel your best at any age. For the entire month of May, Pacific Center and BioSpa are celebrating women across the generations with special offers on popular non-surgical and surgical treatments for every age group.
Twenty years ago, cosmetic surgery wasn’t generally considered unless you were in your late 40s or had a significant “problem” you wanted to correct. Today, many people — as young as their early 20s — choose to enhance their appearance and maintain their youthful look during every stage of life. A proactive approach is certainly something we are seeing more of now than in the past, which is why we have seen a surge in the number of people in their 20’s and 30’s coming in for cosmetic surgery.
While trends continually change and evolve along with society and new innovations, there are currently some very distinct trends within the 20s, 30s, and 40s+.
Cosmetic Surgery in Your 20s
Breast Augmentation – Year after year, breast augmentation is far and away the most popular plastic surgery performed in the U.S. As you enter into adulthood after high school, the early 20’s becomes a time when you feel empowered to make your own decisions about your appearance. If your breasts didn’t develop quite how you had hoped, breast augmentation can provide you with the volume and shape you desire. There are numerous surgical options today in terms of the implant type, size, shape, and placement, as well as various options for incision placement. The current trend in Southern California is breast augmentation that looks natural, not overdone. There are also more women choosing to have a natural breast augmentation using their own fat versus breast implants.
Rhinoplasty & Chin Augmentation – Both procedures have been popular for years, especially with individuals in their 20s. The demand for Ethnic rhinoplasty has grown as more people have been immigrating to the U.S. The ‘Selfie’ age has also had an impact on the rise of younger people having plastic surgery to improve their appearance. With the nose being the focal point of the face, it is no surprise to see younger clientele wanting their nose fixed so it is more proportionate to the rest of their facial features. Often times, chin augmentation is performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty to further maximize the result. Adding more chin definition or altering the shape can dramatically improve your profile. In some instances, a chin augmentation alone can provide the facial balance needed. The nose may appear too strong for the face if the chin is weak or recessed. Adding a chin implant for projection can make the nose appear smaller. There is no doubt rhinoplasty and chin augmentation can make a dramatic improvement, which leads to improved confidence in every aspect of life.
Vaser Liposuction – Traditional liposuction has been performed for decades, but there have been advances made that have improved the comfort of the procedure and overall patient result. Vaser liposuction is still a process by which fat is removed from beneath the skin to improve the aesthetics of a particular body part. Instead of using a cannula and manual movement to break down the fat tissue, Vaser liposuction uses ultrasound high-frequency vibration to break fat cells apart. The Vaser treatment is gentler than traditional liposuction and allows the surgeon more control so you get the smooth, contoured look you want. Additionally, Vaser liposuction is designed to loosen fat while protecting other tissues. Recovery is easier as well. Patients treated with Vaser liposuction are in good physical condition and are looking for body contouring or body sculpting as opposed to using the procedure as a way to lose weight. Popular treatment areas for people in their 20s include the upper and lower abdomen, hips, flanks, bra fat, and back fat.
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) – Over the past few years, and largely due to the visibility of certain high profile celebrities, the request for the Brazilian Butt Lift has seen an enormous spike. 20 somethings are requesting voluptuous backsides that make people stop take a second look! For many patients, they get a 2-in-1 procedure by having liposuction to remove fat from unwanted areas and then having that fat repurposed by placing it into their booty. When combined with Vaser liposuction, a patient will benefit from fat removal, body sculpting, and buttock augmentation.
Cosmetic Surgery in Your 30s
Breast augmentation, BBL, rhinoplasty and chin augmentation are still popular with 30-39-year-olds, but other procedures such as Mommy Makeover and Breast Lifts are now in the mix as well. This is largely due to these being the years when many women go through pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, which can take a major toll on the body leaving them depressed and lacking confidence about their appearance. For others, major weight loss or constant weight fluctuation can also play a part in body changes.
Breast Lifts – When the body changes because of pregnancy or weight loss, you may notice your breasts are saggy, lack upper volume and have poor shape. In some situations, adding an implant may lift and rejuvenate the breasts without the need for a lift, but often times a breast lift is recommended to place the breasts back into a youthful position on the chest. There are various breast lift techniques offered such as the donut lift, lollipop lift, and anchor lift. Which one is needed will depend on factors such as your desired look, amount of breast sag and amount of breast tissue.
Mommy Makeover – A mommy makeover is the combination of a breast rejuvenation procedure and tummy tuck. The breasts and tummy are typically negatively impacted by pregnancy. As with breast lifts, there are different types of tummy tucks offered. Which one is needed will depend on how far the skin laxity extends around the body. Tummy tucks are frequently combined with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. The benefit of combining procedures is that you will only have to go through one surgery and one recovery. Not everyone is a good candidate to have all of the procedures performed together. This will be determined during the consultation when your health and medical history is evaluated along with your physical state.
Cosmetic Surgery in Your 40s +
It is common to see Individuals in their 40s and beyond requesting surgical procedures at this stage in life because they are done having children, kids are older now, changes in their body are getting worse, or they are more financially secure than earlier in life.
Mommy Makeover and Tummy Tucks are in high demand in the 40s. Most breast procedures at this age are breast lifts, breast reductions, or breast revisions.
Breast Revision – Revisions take place for various reasons, but the most common are breast implant exchange due to complications or the age of the implants, prior breast augmentation or breast lift but needing a redo because of breast sag resulting from pregnancy or the aging process, or breast implant removal due to a change in mindset.
Facial Rejuvenation – The aging process may start to be a concern in your late 30s, however, most individuals start to pursue surgical options in their 50s-60s. Early prevention is always recommended in order to minimize the amount of surgery needed for a more natural result. It is also best to have surgery when you are your healthiest. Unfortunately, as you get older health issues could creep up preventing you from being eligible to have cosmetic surgery. Advances in facial cosmetic surgery such as with the LiteLift® modified facelift require fewer incisions, lighter anesthesia, and less downtime making it a more popular option compared to traditional facelifts.
Additionally, some stand-alone cosmetic procedures are now being offered as in-office procedures under local anesthesia for those who prefer to avoid general anesthesia because of the risks, after effects, and longer recovery time. Popular stand-alone facial procedures in the 40s and 50s include upper blepharoplasty (correction of droopy eyelid skin), lower blepharoplasty or skin pinch (removal of loose skin and/or fat pockets), temple lift (lifts a droopy lateral brow), and brow lift (lifts the central brow).

Vaginal Rejuvenation – There are several types of surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedures, but the most popular are Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty. Vaginal rejuvenation is popular at this stage in life because of the changes pregnancy, childbirth, and aging have on the vagina. Most vaginal rejuvenation procedures can be performed in-office under local anesthesia.
- Labiaplasty – A labiaplasty is performed to trim and sculpt the skin surrounding the vaginal opening called the labia. When elongated, the inner labia may interfere with exercise or intercourse and cause pain. It can also limit clothing options due to the appearance of a bulge or discomfort. The labia majora may also sag or protrude causing issues with intercourse and/or hygiene. Most patients who undergo labiaplasty do not want the appearance of a “camel toe”.
- Vaginoplasty – After childbirth and/or during the aging process, women may experience vaginal laxity, resulting from stretching of tissues and separating of muscles, sometimes to the point that a tampon falls out or unexpected urination may occur when sneezing, laughing, or exercising. The lack of tone can also contribute to sexual dysfunction.
Wow! Not only am I thrilled with my results, I also must say that this experience was so much easier than I thought it would be! From the virtual consultation, to the virtual appointments that I had after my surgery… they made it so easy to check in with my doctor. I don’t live in Newport, but it didn’t matter. I was still able to get the surgery that I wanted there! 10/10 would recommend!!
