How Much is a Thread Lift?
August 29, 2024
Skin laxity in areas like the forehead, cheeks, and lower face occurs naturally over time as the skin loses its natural collagen supply. If you want a way to lift and firm your skin without the recovery time of a surgical procedure, a thread lift might be the right option for you. This minimally invasive treatment can help you achieve the more sculpted look you want.
What is a Thread Lift?
Skin laxity occurs when your skin’s underlying support structure of collagen begins to weaken, allowing it to sag. A thread lift uses sterile, dissolvable sutures placed under your skin in the desired areas, providing noticeable lift and contouring. Individuals who think they need a facelift to correct their sagging skin may achieve their desired results with much less downtime with a thread lift. These threads are biologically safe and made of material used regularly in medical sutures and devices.
How Much is a Thread Lift?
The cost of a procedure like a thread lift varies widely for several reasons. Factors that affect the overall cost of the treatment include:
- Your provider’s training, skill, and experience
- Your location
- The areas being treated
- The type of thread used
- The number of areas treated
Estimates for the cost of a thread lift fall between $1,500 and $10,000. When considering a thread lift, keep in mind that this procedure has advanced significantly in the past decade, and surgeons using older thread types or less advanced techniques will not achieve the same results. Pacific Center surgeons use customizable sutures that provide the lift and lasting results you expect.

How Does a Thread Lift Work?
You will receive numbing in the treatment area to keep you comfortable before your thread lift. Your provider will make a few tiny incisions and use them to place the threads. Each dissolvable thread uses small cones to let them grip the skin and underlying layers. Your provider uses these threads to lift and sculpt your features into the desired position.
The threads provide the initial firming and shaping but will dissolve over time. However, they also trigger your skin to produce more collagen that forms around the threads, building a new support network that maintains your lifted, youthful look.
What is Recovery Like After a Thread Lift?
Most people experience swelling, soreness, and minor bruising in the treated area after a thread lift. The procedure takes about 45 minutes, and some people return to work immediately afterward. The swelling will fade within about five days. During this time, avoid rubbing or sleeping on the treated areas of your face.
How Long Does a Thread Lift Last?
You will notice improvements as soon as the swelling from your thread lift fades, with your features immediately looking firmer and smoother. The results of your new collagen formation can take six to eight weeks to become noticeable, and full results can take several months to develop. Once established, your thread lift results can last two years or more. We recommend medical-grade skincare products to keep your skin looking firm and youthful.
I was searching for a surgeon to repair a past surgery which Dr. N. Guyen was able to help me. I am pleased with the outcome and feel back to normal. He was thoughtful and caring.
