Brow Lift in Newport Beach

If you’re starting to feel like your eye area isn’t as open as it used to be, a brow lift can help bring that back in a subtle way. As the brows begin to lower, the upper face can start to look heavy, tired, or a little tense, especially around the eyes.

At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, a brow lift in Newport Beach is designed to subtly reposition the brows, open up the eye area, and restore a more refreshed, natural look—without making you look or feel “overdone”.

What Is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift (also called a forehead lift or eyebrow lift surgery) is a procedure that lifts and repositions the brows to improve the appearance of the upper face.

Types of Brow Lifts

Depending on your anatomy and goals, your treatment plan may include:

Traditional Brow Lift

A more comprehensive approach is used when there is significant sagging across the forehead. Incisions are placed within the hairline to lift and reposition deeper tissues while keeping scars well-concealed.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

An endoscopic brow lift is a minimally invasive technique using small incisions and a tiny camera to guide the lift. This approach allows for precise repositioning with less disruption and a smoother recovery.

Temple Lift (Outer Brow Lift)

A more targeted option that focuses on lifting the outer brow. This is often the most common approach today, especially for patients with heaviness at the sides of the brow or upper eyelid “hooding.” It’s performed through small, hidden incisions and does not affect the center of the brow.

Rather than just tightening the skin, your surgeon focuses on adjusting the underlying tissues to restore a more natural brow position.

Brow Lift vs. Temple Lift: What’s the Difference?

At Pacific Center, your brow lift in Newport Beach is always customized. In many cases, you may not need a full brow lift.

Brow Lift (Full Forehead Lift)
Addresses the entire brow and forehead.

Temple Lift (Outer Brow Lift)
Targets just the outer brow using a more limited approach.

Your surgeon will help you decide which option makes the most sense for your anatomy and goals.

Read along to the Transcript as Dr. Horowitz explains a Brow Lift vs a Temple Lift

Summary:

The brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, addresses areas around the eyes and forehead as a unit.

Traditional brow lifts involved a long incision across the top of the head, but this method is now rare.

The goals of a brow lift include raising the corner of the brow to counteract sagging and reduce hooding on the upper eyelid.

Modern brow lifts focus on raising the outer brow rather than the central brow, which could look abnormal if raised too high.

With the prevalence of Botox treatments targeting forehead skin lines, some patients only require a temple lift, a modification involving a small incision in the hairline to raise the outer brow, especially if the central brow is already smooth due to Botox.
Transcript:

(00:03) talk about a brow lift. What is a brow lift? A brow is okay, so a brow lift or left forehead lift is treated for the areas that frequently include the eyelids. This area here has to be looked at as a unit. In the past, there were different types of brow lifts. A traditional brow lift, which is rarely done now, involves an incision all the way across the top of the head, and then the skin is released, and the skin is brought up to elevate the brow. The things are trying to accomplish with a brow lift there again three.

(00:42) things as we age, the side the corner of the brow tends to fall down, makes us look sad, and it also increases the amount of skin that you have hanging down on your upper eyelid, and that’s called hooding okay, so some people come into the office, and they think they need an eyelid lift when in fact it’s the brow position that’s too low so in the brow lift we want to raise the corner of the brow we don’t want to raise the center brow because that’s not a normal position the brow is usually higher on

(01:20) the outside than the inside; if you raise the central brow, it looks abnormal. One major thing that has changed with brow lifts is the amount of Botox that’s used. Again, there were three areas of concern for the brow: one is the outer brow, which needs to be raised. The second area is lines that go across our forehead skin, and the third is the creases in the central brow that make us look angry or the frown lines. So many people have Botox injected in that area now because that’s the number one area that Botox was first.

(01:57) FDA-approved patients come in and don’t have frown lines, so the main area that they need to be treated is the outer brow, which is still hanging in a lower position. Many patients now have a modification called a temple. This area is the temple, and if this area in the center is already smooth because they’ve had Botox, then the only area that we need to treat is the outer brow so that it only involves one small incision in the hairline and then we come under the skin raised that corner of the brow

(02:31) and that’s all they need, so that’s probably the most common brow operation that we do now. Patients who are using Botox per minute of maintenance can now just get by with a lower brow lift to get the maximum results compared to years ago, maybe when they would need the whole full brow right.

Why Patients Choose Brow Lift Surgery

If you’ve noticed your brows starting to sit lower, or your upper eyelids feeling heavier, a brow lift can help restore a more natural position.

Opens Up the Eye Area

When the brow drops, it can push skin onto the upper eyelids—sometimes even affecting your vision. Lifting the brow helps create a more open, refreshed look.

Improves Heavy or Hooded Upper Eyelids

In many cases, what feels like an eyelid issue is actually the brow sitting too low. A brow lift can address that without over-treating the eyelids.

Restores a More Natural Expression

A lowered brow can make you look tired or tense. Repositioning it brings your expression back to neutral, so you look like yourself again.

Softens Forehead and Frown Lines

By adjusting the underlying tissue, a brow lift can reduce deeper lines across the forehead and between the brows.

How Brow Lift Surgery Is Performed at Our Newport Beach Clinic

Brow lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure and takes about 1–2 hours, depending on the technique used.

Step 1: Consultation and Planning

Your surgeon evaluates your brow position, skin quality, and facial balance to determine the right approach.

Step 2: Anesthesia

Local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia is used for comfort.

Step 3: Incision Placement

Incisions are placed within or along the hairline to keep them discreet.

Step 4: Tissue Repositioning

The underlying tissues are lifted and adjusted to restore a more natural brow position.

Step 5: Closure

Incisions are carefully closed to support healing and minimize visible scarring.

FAQs: Learn More About Brow Lifts in Newport Beach, CA

A brow lift is designed to restore a more refreshed, natural appearance by repositioning the brows and improving balance in the upper face.

As swelling subsides, you’ll notice a more open eye area, smoother forehead, and a softer overall expression. Results continue to improve over the following weeks.

While a brow lift doesn’t stop aging, results are long-lasting—typically 10 years or more—and age naturally over time.

There isn’t just one way to perform a brow lift. The right approach depends on where the brow has dropped and how much lift you need.

Endoscopic Brow Lift
Uses small incisions and a camera to precisely lift and reposition the brow with minimal disruption.

Traditional Brow Lift
Involves slightly longer incisions for more advanced lifting when needed.

Temple Lift (Outer Brow Lift)
Targets only the outer brow for a subtle, natural-looking lift—often the most common approach today.

Your surgeon will recommend the technique that best fits your anatomy and the level of change you’re looking for.

The cost of a brow lift depends on the technique used and the complexity of your procedure. At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, an endoscopic brow lift usually costs $3,600 – $5,400, while a temple lift costs $2,960 – $4,440.

These estimates do not include anesthesia or facility fees. You’ll receive a personalized quote during your consultation.

A brow lift typically lasts 10–15 years, depending on your skin quality, lifestyle, and natural aging process.

While the procedure doesn’t stop aging, it resets the position of the brow, so you continue to look more refreshed over time compared to if you hadn’t had surgery.

In some cases, yes—but not always.

If heaviness in the upper eyelids is caused by a low brow position, a brow lift can significantly improve appearance. However, if excess eyelid skin is the primary issue, a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may be recommended instead—or combined with a brow lift for optimal results.

It depends on what you’re noticing.

If the entire brow has dropped, a full brow lift may be the best option. If the main concern is the outer brow or subtle hooding, a temple lift is often enough—and is less invasive.

Your surgeon will guide you toward the right approach during your consultation.
