Arm Lift

Our board-certified surgeons in Newport Beach perform arm lift procedures at our outpatient surgical facility with general anesthesia to ensure your comfort. Occasionally, they may perform the procedure with oral sedation and local anesthesia. You and your surgeon can discuss and decide which option is better for you.

At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, our knowledgeable surgeons can use several different techniques for an arm lift procedure. Based on your personalized treatment plan and aesthetic goals, our highly-skilled surgeons may use liposuction alone to remove stubborn fat from your upper arms.

This technique will likely only require a few tiny incisions to break up and remove fat cells. They typically make an incision high up on the arm or within the underarm so that it is well concealed. In some instances, your surgeon may use liposuction in conjunction with other surgical techniques.

Patients with a larger amount of excess skin and tissue may require a larger incision, which will sometimes range from the elbow to the underarm. Depending on the severity of your loose skin, incision lengths can vary. Our expert plastic surgeons may tighten your underlying tissue and remove excess skin to improve your arm contours through the appropriate incisions.

After lifting and tightening your underlying tissues to give your arms a firmer and more contoured look, your surgeon will close your incisions and may secure them with absorbable sutures or stitches. They usually remove any stitches in a week or two following arm lift procedures. The brachioplasty (arm lift) procedure itself lasts around two to three hours.
