Life-Changing Results

Cellulite Reduction

As many as 90% of women have cellulite, and many of them become frustrated when creams and lotions or even exercise and weight loss can’t get rid of it. At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach, cellulite reduction treatments have helped hundreds of patients achieve long-lasting results, including a smoother body contour that they can feel confident in.

What is Cellulite Reduction?

Cellulite reduction involves smoothing the appearance of cellulite to improve the texture of your skin and your overall body contour. Age, gender, hormonal changes, weight gain, and poor circulation can contribute to the appearance of cellulite on your body. Cellulite reduction uses advanced technology to smooth out dimpling under the skin on areas like the buttocks and thighs.

Many of the cellulite reduction treatments at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery are non-surgical options offered at our premier MedSpa, the BioSpa. However, our board-certified plastic surgeons sometimes recommend fat transfer to add volume where dimpling is present.

At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, we strive to provide you with the best cellulite reduction Newport Beach has to offer. That’s why we want to understand your unique concerns and goals to find the right treatment plan for you. Our knowledgeable team of experienced providers aims to deliver the best care from consultation to post-op. If you are interested, we can also help make your procedure as affordable as possible with our financing options.

Learn More About Cellulite Reduction

Your Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery provider can use several techniques to reduce the appearance of your cellulite. Our world-class team of experts can use the following surgical and non-surgical techniques to help you achieve your aesthetic goals:

Fat Transfer

Some patients may benefit from a fat transfer to smooth out the appearance of dimples on the buttocks or thighs. During a fat transfer, your board-certified plastic surgeon will use liposuction techniques to obtain fat cells from another part of your body. Next, they inject your harvested fat cells over the cellulite to create a smoother appearance.

Cellfina® is minimally invasive and FDA-cleared to effectively treat the appearance of cellulite on your thighs and buttocks in just one procedure. Cellfina® uses a specialized device to release the connective tissue causing cellulite. Although this procedure does not require general anesthesia, our surgical team will administer local anesthesia to numb the area and keep you comfortable.

During the treatment, one of our board-certified surgeons inserts Cellfina® device needles beneath your skin to release the connective bands that pull down on the skin and cause dimpling. Your treatment should only take about 45 minutes to complete.

Qwo® Cellulite Treatment

Qwo® is the first and only injectable cellulite treatment for the buttocks area approved by the FDA. Qwo® injections contain enzymes called collagenases that are thought to target the root causes of cellulite by breaking down underlying collagen bands. Qwo® treats the structural causes of cellulite under the skin by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and triggering new collagen growth. This procedure takes about 10 minutes to complete and can treat moderate to severe cellulite. A series of three treatments is typically recommended for optimal results.

Velashape® III

Velashape® III is a non-invasive FDA-cleared treatment that can temporarily reduce cellulite. It uses infrared light and bi-polar radiofrequency technology to gently heat your fat cells and surrounding tissue to reduce the appearance of cellulite. This device also uses vacuum technology and massage rollers, promoting the production of new collagen and elastin to tighten your skin. Similar to other body contouring treatments, a series of treatments will be recommended based on the severity of your cellulite and your aesthetic goals.

There is usually minimal recovery required after cellulite treatment, depending on the procedure performed. After some treatments, you can expect swelling, bruising, soreness, or tenderness in the treatment area, but over-the-counter pain relievers may be used to ease discomfort.

Most patients can resume the majority of their usual activities on the same day of their procedure. However, in general, we recommend taking it easy for the first 24 hours. Your Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery provider will give you more detailed recovery information for your unique treatment plan.

After your treatment with Cellfina® cellulite reduction, you can expect to start seeing results in just three days. You’ll likely achieve optimal results after three months, with smoother body contours and reduced cellulite.

If you receive a Qwo® cellulite treatment, you may need three treatments spaced 21 days apart. You can expect to see improvements after your first treatment that will get even better with each session.

With a Velashape® III treatment, you should notice results in approximately ten weeks. These will continue to improve with each treatment.

Overall, results from cellulite reduction treatments are long-lasting. Maintaining a stable weight with a healthy diet and exercise is essential to keep your results. Cellulite reduction treatments can’t prevent future cellulite from forming, so it’s important to stay healthy and active to continue to look and feel your best.

While the exact cause of cellulite isn’t entirely known, we know that it mainly affects women and is commonly present on the buttocks and thighs. If you are a healthy patient that is unhappy with the appearance of cellulite, you may benefit from cellulite treatments to smooth the dimpled appearance of your skin. Ideal candidates for cellulite treatments are at a stable weight and have realistic expectations about their results.

Since there are several treatment options for cellulite reduction, the cost varies depending on your unique procedure and its complexity. For example, the national average cost of Cellfina® is $3,900, while the average for Velashape® III is $1,075Factors such as geographic location and provider experience can also influence the price.

Your total cost will depend not only on which cellulite reduction technique you choose but also on how large the treatment area is and how many sessions are needed. For an accurate estimate, we encourage you to consult with one of our experts at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery.
