Life-Changing Results

Botox®

For many people, fine lines and wrinkles are the first signs of aging that become noticeable when looking in the mirror. They are a normal part of growing older, influenced by years of facial expressions, sun damage, genetics, and other environmental factors. If your facial lines and wrinkles bother you and make you look older or more tired than you are, neuromodulators like Botox® can be a safe and effective solution.

Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery’s premier MedSpa, the BioSpa, strives to provide the best non-surgical treatments for your cosmetic concerns and goals. Our aesthetic nurses and master injector will customize your treatment to best suit your needs.

What are Neuromodulator Injections?

Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau® are common neuromodulators made by botulinum toxin type A. When injected by licensed and skilled providers, these neurotoxins are safe and effective in treating moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin injectables work by blocking nerve signals to temporarily prevent the movement of facial muscles that cause wrinkles, stopping them from contracting. Many older patients use Botox® or other neuromodulator injections to reverse the visible signs of aging or maintain their results from a surgical procedure, like a facelift.

Botulinum toxin injections are also popular among young patients as a preventative anti-aging treatment. By prohibiting the movement of facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, you can prevent the formation of new fine lines and wrinkles as you get older.

The most popular neuromodulator options include:

Botox® is the most commonly recommended and well-known brand of botulinum toxin. It was first approved by the FDA in 1989 to treat various medical conditions like eye muscle disorders, crossed eyes, and uncontrollable blinking.

In 2002, it gained approval as a temporary treatment for moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® has been rigorously tested and is a safe and reliable cosmetic treatment for frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.

Dysport® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator made by Ipsen. It is just as safe and effective as Botox®, and many patients notice its results sooner as well. Some patients may respond better to Dysport® and notice more dramatic results, especially those who have become resistant to Botox® after repeated treatments over time.

Another FDA-approved neurotoxin that can soften moderate to severe frown lines is Xeomin®. Xeomin® is a pure form of botulinum toxin, meaning it does not contain inactive proteins like Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®.

Jeuveau®, also known as “Newtox,” is an FDA-approved treatment that can treat moderate to severe lines between your eyebrows. This injectable treatment is designed to temporarily halt the motions of targeted facial muscles, resulting in a smoother, younger-looking appearance.

If you have never had neuromodulator injections before or are unsure of which injectable to choose, our knowledgeable team can give you their professional recommendation. Schedule a consultation with one of our experts to discuss your goals and treatment options.

Learn More About Botox®

During your treatment, your BioSpa injector will target the specific muscles that are causing concerns and inject a small amount of botulinum toxin. You may feel a slight pinch during the injection process, but we aim to keep our patients as comfortable as possible. In fact, you may barely feel anything at all!

Patients usually report that they find Botox® injections to be quick and easy. Some even schedule their appointments during their lunch break! This procedure typically only takes around 10-15 minutes to complete, depending on the number of treatment areas.

Botox® treatments are minimally invasive, and you will require no downtime after your session. However, you may experience a few minor side effects, like mild bruising or redness at the injection site.

To prevent the injectable from spreading to other areas, do not touch, rub, or massage your face for at least one day or until your provider tells you otherwise. You should also avoid exercise and saunas for 24 hours after treatment. Make sure to follow your provider’s aftercare instructions closely to ensure optimal results.

Dysport® is typically the fastest-acting neuromodulator, and you may start to notice its effects after just a few days. Botox®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau® may require up to a week to see full results. Results from neuromodulators typically last for three to four months, but some people may notice that one brand lasts longer for them than another.

The duration, strength, and diffusion of different botulinum toxin injections don’t differ significantly, and they all work in very similar ways. However, depending on how your body processes their unique formulas, some may work better for you than others. Our BioSpa injectors in Newport Beach can help you determine which botulinum toxin brand is suitable for your needs and cosmetic goals.

If you are looking for an anti-aging solution that will smooth or prevent fine lines and wrinkles for several months, botulinum toxin injections may be a good treatment for you. Botox® can complement and enhance many of the surgical procedures that we offer at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery. Candidates should be healthy and be at least 18 years of age. Additionally, you should have realistic expectations about the treatment and its results.

Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have active skin infections at the injection site may not be good candidates for botulinum toxin injections.

The best way to determine which botulinum toxin brand is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our skilled and knowledgeable team members at BioSpa in Newport Beach. We look forward to helping you achieve your cosmetic goals!

The cost of neuromodulator injections varies depending on factors such as your geographic location and your provider. The average cost of botulinum toxin injections is $466This is only an estimate, and we encourage you to schedule a consultation where we can help you develop a treatment plan so you’ll know what to expect.

Though the price of Botox®, Xeomin®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau® will be similar, your total cost will be based on your unique treatment and how many units are needed. More advanced lines and wrinkles or larger treatment areas will likely require more units of product and will, therefore, have a higher cost.
