What are my Facelift Options?
January 31, 2019
Facial volume loss, sagging skin around the jaw and neckline, and folds in the lower face are all unavoidable signs of the aging process that affect both men and women. Genetics, ethnicity, lifestyle habits, and environmental factors all play a role in how we age. Some individuals embrace the aging process, while others prefer to stay ahead of it as best they can. Fortunately, there are facelift procedures designed to take years off your appearance! Surgical facelifts are a popular solution for tightening loose skin and redefining facial features. Because no two cases are the same, several facelift techniques have been developed to give you the customized treatment you need. Here are some of the facelift techniques we offer at Pacific Center Plastic Surgery:
Traditional Facelift
The traditional facelift is the most used technique in the plastic surgery field when it comes to treating overall facial aging. With the traditional facelift, incisions are made from the temple continuing along the front of the ear, then to the back of the ear and along the back of the hairline. Incisions are made as delicately as possible and hidden wherever possible. The underlying tissues and skin are both addressed to provide a long-lasting result. A traditional facelift is best for someone with severe aging who wants total facial rejuvenation. It does require general anesthesia and a longer recovery than other more modern methods.

LiteLift®
Not everyone requires the full traditional facelift, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait for the signs of aging to progress before having something done. With the LiteLift®, patients can achieve a natural-looking, younger appearance with limited anesthesia, incisions, and recovery. The LiteLift® is a surgical technique developed by Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter, which is a hybrid of the traditional facelift and superficial mini-lift that only addresses loose skin. The LiteLift® is a real facelift technique, using minimal incisions that become virtually unnoticeable over time. Instead of pulling the tissue towards the ears like a traditional facelift, vertical lifting is used to subtly smooth out the midface. Both the underlying tissues and skin are addressed ensuring results will last for years to come. The LiteLift®is proven to be safe & effective and is most often performed in an office setting under local anesthesia.
Patients who choose the LiteLift® are typically able to return to work within one week without others detecting that something was done.
Silhouette InstaLift®
The Silhouette InstaLift® is a minimally invasive procedure that places dissolvable sutures with tiny bi-directional cones under the skin in order to reposition and lift the mid to lower face. The procedure is performed in-office and takes about an hour. Results are immediate but the material under the skin dissolves over time. Results may last a year or longer. This is a good alternative for those who are not quite ready for a surgical facelift or for those who do not want to undergo surgery.
Depending on the extent of your aging and your goals, Dr. Horowitz or Dr. Nichter will help determine the best facelift technique for you. Both Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter are board certified experts in facial plastic surgery. To schedule your consultation in Newport Beach, contact Pacific Center Plastic Surgery today.
Wow! Not only am I thrilled with my results, I also must say that this experience was so much easier than I thought it would be! From the virtual consultation, to the virtual appointments that I had after my surgery… they made it so easy to check in with my doctor. I don’t live in Newport, but it didn’t matter. I was still able to get the surgery that I wanted there! 10/10 would recommend!!
