With just 3 months until the start of the summer season, you will want to allow enough time for the entire process to take place so you are all healed up by your target date.
Here are some tips & information to help you through the research process:
Determine what it is you are unhappy about. Do you have excess fat, loose skin, cellulite, or poor body contour? Some people may have just one of these issues, while others may have multiple issues.
Start thinking about whether or not you want to achieve your body goals with or without surgery. In years past, surgery was really the only viable option for predictably achieving the best result. Older non-surgical technology really didn’t prove to yield a noticeable results patients felt were worth the time or money spent. Fast forward to the present, non-surgical technology has come along way, and there are some wonderful devices such as UltraShape, VelaShape 3, and Vanquish which can effectively target fat, loose skin, cellulite and improve body shape. There are instances however, when a patients goals cannot be achieved without having a surgical procedure. This is the case when there is simply too much excess fat and/or loose skin. In these situations, traditional liposuction or skin tightening procedure may be recommended. If this happens to you, and you are adamant about not having surgery, you may still be able to have a non-surgical body treatment. It will be explained what can and cannot be achieved, so you can decide if you feel it is worth making an investment you may not be entirely happy with. For some, they are ok with a C result if it means avoiding surgery, while others won’t settle for less than an A.

Some of the available procedures for achieving a better body are:
Surgical:
Liposuction – Surgical removal of fat through a small incision. Frequently performed on the upper/lower abdomen, inner/outer thighs, hips, flanks, low back, upper back, neck. Time needed for full recovery: Best to plan for 4 weeks total to be sure all swelling and bruising has subsided.
Tummy tuck – Tightens the skin and underlying muscles in the abdomen. Often times, combined with liposuction to remove excess fat.Time needed for full recovery: Allow for a total of 6 weeks.
Arm lift – Removal of excess skin to achieve a more attractive underarm. Can be combined with liposuction. Time need for full recovery – Allow for 4-6 weeks, especially if a lengthy incision was made to remove excess skin. Once incisions have closed, the scars tend to take on a red appearance, sometimes a little raised for a period of time. Scars will improve over time. Since the arms are exposed to sunlight quite often, be sure to use a high quality sunscreen throughout the day so the scars heal well. If exposed to sun, scarring will be compromised.
Thigh lift – Same as arm lift.
Brazilian Butt Lift – Removal of unwanted fat from one area of the body and placement of this fat into the buttocks to improve volume and shape, as well as provide a lift. Time needed for full recovery – If just fat transfer was performed, there will be some bruising and really no visible scarring, so plan on a 4 week totally recovery time. If skin tightening w/ a lift is needed, plan for up to 6 weeks.
Wow! Not only am I thrilled with my results, I also must say that this experience was so much easier than I thought it would be! From the virtual consultation, to the virtual appointments that I had after my surgery… they made it so easy to check in with my doctor. I don’t live in Newport, but it didn’t matter. I was still able to get the surgery that I wanted there! 10/10 would recommend!!

Non-surgical:
Body shaping devices are used to remove fat, tighten skin, reduce the appearance of cellulite, lose inches, and improve overall body shape. A series of treatments spread out over a period of time is necessary to achieve optimal results. There are no needles or anesthesia and no downtime. Considered “Walk-In, Walk-Out” procedures. Time needed for full recovery – No downtime.
The BioSpa offers three FDA cleared devices – UltraShape, VelaShape 3, Vanquish and Kybella. We frequently combine these treatments to target multiple concerns & achieve superior results compared to just using one device, which can’t target multiple issues. Kybella is an FDA cleared injectable used to dissolve the fat under the chin (double chin).
Common concerns treated:
- Stubborn fat pockets
- Loose skin
- Cellulite
- Lack of body shape or contour
- Lack of definition
Common areas treated:
Upper/lower abdomen
Flanks/hips
Inner/outer thighs
Under arms
Upper/lower back
Back of thighs/buttocks
Double chin
There are situations when we recommend a surgical procedure followed by a non-surgical treatment. An example would be when an individual requires liposuction, but also wants to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Liposuction would be performed to remove fat and Vanquish to reduce cellulite.
