Mission Plasticos Honored By Loma Linda University

May 15, 2024

Alumni of the prestigious Loma Linda University School of Medicine recently had the opportunity to offer their knowledge and skills to help those who need it most. Mission Plasticos, the nonprofit service organization founded by our own Dr. Larry Nichter, creates a unique opportunity for these doctors to provide their services at no cost as well as providing free education to benefit medical professionals around the world.

What is the Loma Linda University Alumni Association?

Loma Linda University School of Medicine is a service-focused medical school that trains graduates to provide caring, compassionate treatment wherever it is needed. Their Alumni Association updates current students and graduates on some of the most important or meaningful events involving those who graduated from the school. Their Service is in Our DNA article highlights a recent mission trip to Kenya organized by Mission Plasticos.

What is Mission Plasticos?

People around the world, many of them children, experience injuries or medical conditions that can cause disfigurement or impair their function. Mission Plasticos allows medical professionals from around the world to collaborate in order to provide reconstructive surgical care and education in areas in need. Why is Mission Plasticos Being Honored?

The article in the Alumni Journal focuses on the important work of the nonprofit to provide reconstructive surgical care to those in need and to generate sustainable outcomes through medical team training, public education, and research.

In addition to the busy surgery schedule, each morning before operating, the Mission Plasticos surgeons gave lectures to plastic surgery resident physicians who were visiting from other places. The lectures were also live-streamed throughout Kenya and around the globe and included topics regarding safety issues, enhancing recovery from surgery, and other specific plastic surgery topics.

I had the most amazing experience at Pacific Center! Their entire team was absolutely phenomenal. They handled me with such care and consideration, I felt so taken care of. I’m so grateful for my time with them and their high-quality customer service. This is the best place in Orange County! Thank you so much!!
