Plasticos Foundation Adds a New Chapter!

April 13, 2010

On Tuesday, March 23rd, a group of select volunteers met at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery to discuss the addition of a new chapter to Plasticos Foundation. The new chapter will focus its efforts on fundraising for Plasticos trips.

Plasticos Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, and nonreligious organization dedicated to providing life changing plastic surgery for children. The Plasticos Team corrects birth defects, congenital malformations and traumatic disfigurements of those at home and around the world unable to afford these services. In addition to providing free surgeries to children in need, Plasticos doctors train local doctors and nurses in hosting countries.

Among the items discussed at the meeting were organization of the foundation, possible officers and their responsiblities, increasing publicity for the foundation, upcoming Plasticos trips (Dr. Horowitz will be doing a site visit in Armenia in late April, and Dr. Nichter will be visiting Cambodia in June), and fundraising ideas (e.g. Mud run, details to come in a later post) to fund future trips.
