Heart Healthy Salad Recipe Courtesy of Dr. Weil

We at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Orange County, CA. are always looking for deliciously easy healthy recipes. In a recent article published on Dr. Weil’s website, we came across a salad that is the perfect blend of quick and healthy.

The main ingredients are broccoli and avocado. Broccoli has a powerful cholesterol lowering effect with it’s high fiber content and it’s actually more powerful when lightly steamed. Avocado is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, which have been shown to increase the absorption of fat soluble carotenoids, as well as reduce the risk of heart disease. To read more about the benefits and how foods can be translated into medicine of the body, read Dr. Weil’s article here.
