Meet Dr. Andrea Castaldo
Dr. Andrea Castaldo is an exceptionally skilled plastic surgeon currently completing an elite fellowship at our practice. As a recognized Center of Excellence, our facility is a destination for the nation’s top surgical talent. Dr. Castaldo was hand-selected to join our team, where she collaborates with our world-renowned surgeons to master the latest advancements in aesthetic and reconstructive techniques. Patients appreciate her meticulous eye for detail and her ability to blend clinical precision with a warm, empathetic bedside manner.
Education and Training
Dr. Castaldo’s academic journey is defined by a commitment to rigorous scientific inquiry. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, double-majoring in Economics and Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine before completing a premier residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Castaldo is a frequent contributor to the global plastic surgery community:
• Award-Winning Research: Her work on MRSA protocols in breast reconstruction earned the prestigious Gaspar W. Anastasi Award for Best Paper at The Aesthetic MEET.
• Published Author: She has authored numerous peer-reviewed studies on 3D imaging for breast augmentation, cleft lip classification, and surgical safety protocols.
• Educational Leadership: At UMASS, she pioneered a biannual Wound Care Conference Series, fostering vital collaboration between dermatology and plastic surgery to improve outcomes for complex cases.

Dr. Castaldo’s dedication to healing extends to global humanitarian efforts. She has served on medical missions in Peru with the Foundation for the International Medical Relief of Children, providing essential surgical and medical care to underserved communities and orphanages.
When she is not in the operating room, Dr. Castaldo stays active by biking, running, golfing, and snowboarding. An avid traveler, she enjoys exploring new cultures and destinations alongside her family.
