There
is an art to performing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery,
and in 1985 Dr. Jed Horowitz brought his artistic surgical
skills to the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery with experience
in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures.
His extensive knowledge, training
and exceptional abilities in plastic surgery, along with
his sensitivity to patient needs and goals, provide his
patients with the highest level of confidence and trust.
A graduate of the State University of New
York, Buffalo Medical School, Dr. Horowitz went on to complete an
internship at Boston University and his general surgery residency
at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. His
extensive plastic surgery training was completed at the University
of Virginia.
Dr. Horowitz is board certified by the
American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a fellow of
the American College of Surgeons and a member of numerous local
and national medical organizations including the American Society
of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Los Angeles, Orange
County and California Medical Associations. In addition, he is a
clinical instructor of surgery at the USC School of Medicine.
He has performed thousands of cosmetic
surgery procedures including breast enhancement, reduction and lift,
face lift, forehead lift, upper and lower eyelid surgery, laser
skin resurfacing, chemical peel, nose reshaping and reconstruction
liposuction and tummy tuck.
His hospital affiliations throughout Long
Beach and Orange County include Memorial Medical Center of Long
Beach, Long Beach Community Medical Center, St. Mary's Medical Center,
Los Alamitos Medical Center, Hoag Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's
Hospital. He is a member of the Cleft Palate Team at the Children's
Hospital of Memorial Medical Center performing reconstructive surgery
on children unfortunate to have been born with cleft lips or other
birth defects.
Dr Horowitz has contributed to several
published articles in local and national medical journals and literature
and has presented topics in plastic and reconstructive surgery to
fellow physicians at the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgeons annual meetings. Recently he was listed in The Best
Doctors in America; Pacific Region, 1996-1997, a book published
by Woodward/White, a South Carolina based research firm who asked
thousands of fellow physicians in the Pacific Region which specialists
they would feel comfortable sending a friend or loved one to for
medical care. He has also been included in the 26th edition of the
Who's Who in the West.
In addition to his busy cosmetic practice,
Dr. Horowitz has established a large physician referral network
for complex and difficult reconstructive cases.
Dr. Horowitz's goal is to help patients
enhance their self esteem through surgery, whether it's cosmetic
or reconstructive. His compassion and concern is evident in the
way he communicates with his patients. From the initial visit, through
surgery and throughout the entire post-operative period, Dr. Horowitz
is dedicated to giving his patients the best care possible and helping
them achieve their goals towards self improvement.
