Litelift®, Not Your Mother’s Facelift

Experience the difference from the world-renowned plastic surgeons who pioneered LiteLift®

Men and women who are experiencing unwanted facial aging may begin to seek out a facelift to restore their youthful appearance. However, there are newer, revolutionary options that are considered state of the art among facial procedures. The board-certified doctors at Pacific Center Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach, CA, have been surgical pioneers in creating and advancing the LiteLift® procedure.

Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter each have more than 20 years of experience using the natural-looking LiteLift® technique. The results for their patients have been life-changing. If you are considering facial rejuvenation, you are warmly invited to schedule a consultation to determine if a LiteLift® is right for you.

What is the LiteLift® Procedure?

The LiteLift® is a procedure that offers an alternative to the traditional facelift. It is less invasive, often less expensive, requires less recovery time, and produces less scarring than earlier techniques widely used by other surgeons. A LiteLift® can be combined with additional procedures such as an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), brow lift, neck lift, or facial liposuction. It can also be combined with non-surgical treatments such as dermal fillers, lasers or chemical peels. Our vast experience with both surgical and non-surgical treatments means that we are able to offer our Newport Beach Litelift® patients a complete selection of complementary treatments to get the best possible result.

How does LiteLift® work?

The LiteLift® procedure smooths, tightens, and repositions areas of the face by lifting layers of underlying supporting tissues allowing for a less invasive procedure. These tissues include the fat pads and muscles that provide the “foundation” for your face. A LiteLift® aims to produce very “natural-looking” results that often last longer than those achieved by a traditional facelift.

Who is a good candidate for LiteLift®?

LiteLift® is very effective in reducing and improving the appearance of wrinkles, jowls, and folds between your nose and mouth. The best candidates are men and women who notice early changes in their facial skin, neck, and jowls. LiteLift® has also produced impressive results for patients in their 80s.

It’s important to note that a LiteLift® is not right for everyone. Patients who have very loose, sun-damaged skin, severe laxity of the neck, very heavy naso-labial folds, and/or drooping of the lower lids and mid-face may be better candidates for standard facelift operations. Upon examination, our doctors will discuss their findings with you and help you select the best option for you.

Additionally, both LiteLift® and facelift candidates should be in good overall health. If you are a smoker, you may be asked to stop smoking in the weeks before and after your procedure to aid with proper healing.

Selecting the right doctor

Selecting your surgeon is the single most crucial decision you will make in pursuing cosmetic facial surgery. Your selected surgeon’s skill and experience level will impact the success and safety of your procedure more than any other factor. Never settle when it comes to facial surgery and insist on seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Nichter and Dr. Horowitz are world-renowned board-certified plastic surgeons who have perfected the LiteLift® technique. They have decades of experience, an impeccable reputation and are both facial rejuvenation experts.

During your consultation, your doctor should not only be willing but eager to show you “before and after” pictures from previously performed procedures. It’s essential that you communicate clearly and thoroughly with your doctor at this time when expressing your goals and expectations. Having open communication with your doctor and feeling comfortable with your doctor is very important before proceeding with surgery.

Preparing for LiteLift®

You and your surgical team will carefully review your medical history as part of the preparation process. Be sure to accurately list all previous surgeries and any chronic conditions you may have. You’ll be asked to submit a list of all supplements and medications you are currently taking as well. To ensure proper healing, you may be asked to stop taking some medications, such as aspirin, for a period of time before and after your LiteLift® procedure. Your doctor may also want to perform blood work and other lab tests as part of your pre-surgical preparation.

The LiteLift® procedure

Most of our patients choose to have LiteLift® performed at our Newport Beach office with an oral sedation and local anesthetic. However, we’re happy to offer other anesthesia options, such as IV sedation (Twilight) or general anesthesia if you prefer. Our primary goal is to ensure the comfort and safety of every patient.

Once sedated, your surgeon will make small, well-concealed incisions in the crease behind your ears, in front within the ear, or in a natural crease and then in the temple hairline. The strong layers under the skin that support the jowl, cheek and neck are then lifted vertically (anti-gravity) with long lasting sutures that define and naturally rejuvenate the jawline and neckline. This portion of the LiteLift® takes about two hours. If your LiteLift® is combined with other procedures, your surgery may take between two to four hours. Once complete, you will be monitored closely before being cleared to go home. It will be important to have a friend or family member available to drive you home after your procedure.

LiteLift® Recovery

The healing time for LiteLift® is relatively quick, and most patients require several days for the early recovery period. Keeping your head elevated the first few days will shorten the recovery and reduce swelling. If additional treatments are combined with LiteLift® Newport Beach patients find that the recovery period could lengthen depending on the number of areas treated. Most LiteLift® patients experience only mild to moderate discomfort in the week following their procedure(s).

During the recovery period, you will be seen by your doctor and our staff to ensure that post-op instructions are being followed correctly and that your recovery is going well. You’ll want to take it easy at home, avoid wearing makeup and avoid strenuous exercise. When you do begin to resume normal activities, be sure to protect and preserve your new and beautiful results by wearing sunscreen.

LiteLift® Results

You’ll likely feel comfortable with your public appearance in about two weeks following your surgery. After that, it just gets better as swelling subsides and your incisions fully heal. You can expect to see your full results in just a few short months.

Oftentimes patients ask how long their LiteLift® results will last. The short answer is, forever! It’s true that you will continue to age and the rate at which that happens depends on many factors including genetics, lifestyle, and skin elasticity. However, you will always look younger than you would have if you didn’t undergo a LiteLift®. Fortunately, this investment in yourself and the effects of your LiteLift® will be with you always.

LiteLift® FAQs

How much does LiteLift® cost?

The cost of your LiteLift® will depend on the extent and complexity of your surgery and whether you choose to combine it with other cosmetic procedures. Be aware that since LiteLift® is a cosmetic procedure, your medical insurance will not pay for it.

Fortunately, many patients find that their LiteLift® can save them money and time in the long run. The highly skilled and experienced doctors at Pacific Center Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach are at your service and invite you to schedule a consultation to learn more.

Why don’t all plastic surgeons perform the LiteLift® procedure?

Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter pioneered the LiteLift® procedure. It is not the older, traditional facelift method that is often applied across the board for patients at other practices. Rather, it is individualized for each patient.

Our doctors are passionate about continuing their education and as such, they are always researching the latest in plastic surgery techniques. Additionally, over the years, our doctors paid close attention to patient’s comments about wanting a procedure with a quick recovery, shorter incisions, local anesthetic, and a more natural-looking result. From this, LiteLift® was born.

What is the difference between LiteLift® and a traditional facelift?

A LiteLift® can be a perfect option for patients who don’t want or require a full, conventional facelift. LiteLift® is a gentler surgical technique that uses smaller incisions than a traditional facelift, and as a result, is considerably less invasive. LiteLift® incisions tend to heal almost invisibly. Remember, this is not your mother’s facelift!
