What is the Ideal Implant®?

The IDEAL Implant® may well be the best type of implant of all to choose from at this time. It is also a great option for those desiring a breast augmentation but want a silicone gel implant alternative.

There are currently 4 options for augmenting the breasts.

  1. The Ideal Structured Implant®
  2. Traditional Saline Implants
  3. Silicone Gel Implants
  4. Natural Augmentation (use your own fat)

Benefits of the Ideal® Implant

The most advanced and latest breakthrough in breast implant technology is the IDEAL Implant®. It was developed by plastic surgeons to provide a safe and natural alternate for women who do not want their breast augmentation with silicone gel implants. For example, many women do not want to have including additional monitoring studies and additional surgery if silicone implants rupture. Most importantly is the peace of mind of knowing your implant is intact simply by looking in a mirror rather than living with a silent ruptured silicone implant, or undergoing a MRI scan every few years per FDA guidelines for silicone implants. Ideal Implants® are a new type of structured saline breast implant, approved by the FDA, and offered at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgeryin Newport Beach, California. At Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, we have used more IDEAL Implants® than most practices in the United States and Canada, have published their results in leading plastic surgical journals and train other plastic surgeons in their use.

The Structured Ideal Implant® is an evolved category of saline implants designed to feel like silicone gel but have the safety of saline. To do this, inner baffle shells with small openings make the saline move slowly providing a more viscous, silicone-like feel to the saline solution by inhibiting excessive movement. It is similar to silicone implants in its benefits but do not carry the issues of silicone. They are specially designed to give a natural feel and look. Simply looking in a mirror confirms that it is intact and there is no need to replace them until they leak harmless saline (same as IV solution) which is quickly absorbed naturally.

Candidates for Ideal Implant

Women who are adults over the age of 18 and do not have any serious health conditions are often good candidates. In short. women who are good candidates for silicone implants are also good candidates for Ideal Structured Implant surgery as well.

Necessary Incisions

Just like any other implant surgery, incisions are necessary. The most common incisions are around the areola and under the breast in the breast crease. The incision can also be made in the arm pit or belly button. The benefit of the Ideal Implant is that the incision required is comparatively smaller than that required for silicone implants.
