Dr. Horowitz Helps Children in Ecuador

August 13, 2011

On August 12, Dr. Horowitz traveled with Women for World Health to Cuenca, Ecuador to perform reconstructive surgery for children in need. In the 10 days that the team will be there, they will screen patients and then perform about a hundred live-changing procedures. They will provide training to the local medical personnel so they can provide the continued care needed.

Dr. Horowitz not only volunteers his time with W4WH, but he is also the Vice President of Plasticos Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to performing reconstructive surgery for children in need while training local doctors. Dr. Horowitz was the trip leader on Plasticos’ mission to Armenia in May 2011. To read more about the Armenia trip, read the blog.
