How it works – MiraDry® is the only FDA approved non-invasive procedure that provides a lasting reduction of underarm sweat. Other treatment options, including antiperspirants and toxins, attempt to temporarily disable the sweat glands, requiring ongoing treatments. Other options involve surgery, which increase potential risks, require incisions and downtime, as well as an increase in cost. MiraDry® is a safe, clinically proven treatment for significantly reducing underarm sweat. The treatment is performed in our office. There are no incisions required and no downtime. MiraDry works by delivering precisely controlled electromagnetic energy to the underarm area, eliminating the underarm sweat glands. In most cases, we recommend two procedures scheduled 3 months apart to maximize results. The total treatment time is approximately 1 hour.
