We are proud to share that the 19th Annual Larry S. Nichter Research Award Symposium took place on March 29, 2021. This honor was bestowed for Dr. Nichter’s unprecedented breakthrough research, innovations and multiple peer review publications as a Plastic Surgical Resident and Fellow at the University of Virginia. Dr. Nichter was the keynote speaker followed by finalist research presentations to Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, Research Staff and Faculty in their Department of Plastic Surgery. A cash award and plaque are given to the research winners each year and recognition during the graduation ceremony.
Dr. Nichter completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Virginia. In addition, he completed several advanced Plastic Surgical Fellowships at the University of Virginia as well as a Master of Science degree in Surgery. His training included extensive exposure to advanced Aesthetic Surgical Techniques. “The honor of the symposia and award in my honor after 3 decades is humbling to say the least,” said Dr. Nichter.
Dr. Nichter has been board-certified by 3 different specialties. As a plastic surgeon, he feels lucky to continue to be inspired by his profession and to have the opportunity over his career to train plastic surgeons worldwide by creating Mission Plasticos NPO, and to impart wisdom on future surgeons here at home in California. Likewise, we feel lucky to have him as our medical director and to continue to be inspired by him! Check out Dr. Nichter’s bio page to learn more about his background, and expertise.
