FACELIFT FOR MEN NEWPORT BEACH
MALE FACELIFT SURGERY
The Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery is proud to be one of the few practices in Newport Beach and Southern California, which caters to the needs of men. As cosmetic surgery is becoming more mainstream, we have seen an upswing in the number of men pursing treatment to turn back the signs of aging.
There have been many articles written about the direct correlation between a man’s appearance and his success in life. For this reason, our expert facelift surgeons treat many business men, entrepreneurs, athletes, actors and musicians.
Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter have been performing facelift surgery on men for a combined 25 years. They are board-certified plastic surgeons known for their expertise in facial rejuvenation. They created their widely popular LiteLift™ modified facelift approximately 10 years ago to meet the needs of patients who wanted a less invasive procedure than the traditional facelift.
The traditional facelift Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter perform on men who are not candidates for the LiteLift,™ more aggressively targets deep folds and wrinkles, excessive skin laxity, and fullness or banding under the neck. Both surgeons customize their facelift techniques based on the needs of each man. This ensures the best possible result and a happy patient.
A FACELIFT WILL:
- Smooth out major folds and wrinkles
- Tighten the tissues beneath your skin
- Remove sagging, excess skin
INTENDED RESULTS OF A FACELIFT PROCEDURE
Most men do not want anyone to know they had plastic surgery. For this reason, our Facelift procedures for men are intended to reduce the signs of aging in a manner which is natural, not overdone, with the most discreet incisions possible. Dr. Horowitz and Dr. Nichter take great care to do the least amount of surgery possible to achieve the patient’s desired result.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE?
A person’s age is best guessed by the appearance of their face. If you feel that your face does not reflect how young you feel inside, you may be a candidate for a facelift. You must be in good health with no medical issues which would compromise your safety. If you are a smoker, and would be unable to stop for a period of 6 weeks, you would not be a candidate for surgery.

It is important to choose a highly skilled and experienced surgeon to match your goals and skin type with the appropriate surgical techniques. Men have thicker skin than women, which requires expertise to effectively treat for optimal results.
During your consultation, your surgeon of choice (Dr. Nichter or Dr. Horowitz) will review your medical history, discuss what bothers you, and what you want to accomplish with surgery, followed by evaluating your skin texture and elasticity, as well as your underlying skin structure and your facial bone structure. If you are a candidate for surgery, he will create a custom surgical plan, detailing specific techniques and recommendations to meet your goals. Anesthesia options will also be discussed. Dr. Horowitz or Dr. Nichter will make sure you have a full understanding of what results to expect.
If your surgeon feels additional procedures will improve your overall result, he will also discuss his recommendations.
Male facelifts are frequently combined with one or more of the procedures mentioned below. In some cases, non-surgical treatments may be recommended and will either be done at the same time as your surgery or at a later date.
- Neck Lift
- Liposuction of the Neck
- MidFace Lift
- Upper or Lower Eyelid Surgery
- Fat Transfer for Volume Loss
- ZO® Controlled Depth Blue Peel
- Broad Band Light Laser Resurfacing
RECOVERY TIME: Recovery time from a male facelift varies from person to person, but generally you can expect to be presentable within three weeks.
SWELLING/BRUISING: You should expect swelling and bruising after surgery. Swelling should reduce dramatically after the first few days, while bruising may take two-three weeks. To return to work or social settings, we recommend applying “camouflage” make-up. Our staff can give you information on where to buy and can teach you how to apply. Yes, men do use make-up to cover up bruising after facelift surgery!
SCARRING: Scars from a facelift mature within six to twelve months from the surgery date. It is important to know scars only get better over time. Do not waste your money on over-the-counter scar creams and ointments. If you are interested in buying a scar healing product, contact our office to purchase BioCorneum.
